What we collect

  • Catalog browsing: standard server logs (IP address, user agent, requested page) for a short retention window. No account required.
  • Waitlist signup: the email address you provide, plus the coffee and roaster you signed up for, plus a timestamp.
  • Your account: the email address you sign in with, and your name and phone number if you give them to us. We sign you in with a link sent to your email rather than a password, so we never hold one.
  • Your taste profile: the answers you give during onboarding and any later edits — the flavors you like and want to avoid, roast and brew preferences, and how much each matters to you. This is what we match coffees against.
  • Orders: what you bought, from which roaster, the amounts charged (including our service fee), and the status of the order over time.
  • Delivery address: recipient name, street address, city, region, postal code and country. We need it to have your coffee shipped to you.
  • Payment: card details go directly to Stripe and never reach Axia’s servers. We store only Stripe’s references to the payment and, for subscribers, the subscription — enough to match a payment to your order and to refund it.
  • Subscription: if you subscribe, your plan, its status, the current billing period, and the history of each box we curated for you.
  • Shipping updates: the carrier and tracking number for your parcel, which we receive from the roaster and show you on your order page.
  • Error reports: if the site crashes in your browser, we collect a stack trace and minimal context (Sentry). No form data, no DOM contents.

What we don't collect

  • We do not sell or rent your information.
  • We do not set advertising cookies or share with ad networks.
  • We do not track you across other sites.

Who else sees your order

Axia is a buying agent. When you order, we place that order with the roaster on your behalf and they ship it to you directly — so the roaster necessarily receives the recipient name and delivery address you gave us. There is no way to have coffee delivered without this.

Two things they do not receive:

  • Not your email address. We use a per-order Axia alias at the roaster’s checkout, so their order confirmations and shipping notices come to us and we pass the tracking on to you.
  • Not your payment details. Axia pays the roaster with its own card. Your card is charged by Axia, never by them.

Roasters are independent businesses and handle the address they receive under their own privacy practices, the same as if you had ordered from them yourself.

What we send

If you sign up for the waitlist, we’ll send you a confirmation email and a single notification email when the coffee you signed up for becomes buyable on Axia. Every marketing email has an unsubscribe link.

If you order or subscribe, we also send email about that order: a confirmation, a note when we have placed it with the roaster, tracking when it ships, confirmation of any refund, and — for subscribers — a note about the coffee chosen for your next box. These are part of the service rather than marketing, so they do not have an unsubscribe link; cancelling your subscription or not ordering stops them.

We do not send marketing emails to roasters whose products we surface. We may contact a roaster directly if they email us via hello@axia.coffee or takedowns@axia.coffee.

Where data lives

Application data is stored in Supabase (Postgres) hosted in the United States. Payments are processed by Stripe, which holds your card details — we never do. Email delivery is handled by Resend. Error tracking is handled by Sentry. All providers are bound by their own privacy commitments.

Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of what we hold about you, correct it, or delete it, by contacting hello@axia.coffee. We’ll action requests within 30 days. You can edit your taste profile yourself at any time, and cancel a subscription yourself from your account.

One limit worth stating plainly: we cannot delete the record of an order you actually placed. Purchase and payment records have to be kept for tax, accounting, and fraud-prevention reasons, and Stripe keeps its own record of the payment independently of us. Deleting your account removes your profile, your taste preferences, and your saved addresses from ongoing use, but the underlying order history is retained for as long as the law requires and is not used to market to you.
